ASSESSMENT
Students without any previous evaluations will complete an in-depth assessment of reading-related skills. These assessments include standardized, as well as non-standardized tests of achievement related to the following skills:
-phonological awareness (including phonemic awareness)
-letter and sound recognition
-word identification
-fluency
-comprehension
-spelling
The results and recommendations are presented in a formal document to be shared with parents during a follow-up consultation.

TUTORING
Tutoring sessions are 50 minutes in length, at a minimum of twice per week, year round. They are completed virtually via Zoom, with supplemental hands-on materials sent to the student to use during lessons.
Students are required to use a desktop or laptop computer. Chromebooks, iPads, tablets, and phones are not acceptable, as they do not support the Zoom features needed to make the sessions multi-sensory and interactive. Strong internet connection is required.
Students must either work in a quiet room without any environmental distractions, or using headphones.
Monthly progress reports are provided to summarize the skills and program components that have been completed, and to describe further recommendations for home and school.
There is no additional homework needed in order to make significant progress.
