Welcome to Busy Bees Tutoring!  Amy offers individual assessment and tutoring to remediate reading and spelling.  She is certified in the Barton Reading & Spelling System, an Orton-Gillingham based program for language-based learning disabilities.

"Orton-Gillingham is a direct, explicit, multi-sensory, structured, sequential, diagnostic, and prescriptive way to teach literacy when reading, writing, and spelling does not come easy to individuals, such as those with dyslexia". (www.ortonacademy.org).  All assessment and tutoring is done virtually, making it accessible to students all over the country.

Amy has 10 years of public-school teaching experience in special education classrooms in Illinois and California, and 8 years of experience tutoring students individually.  She loves working one-on-one with students to help them make substantial gains in a personalized way. Amy has a passion for helping students unlock the reading code and discover the joys of literacy.
